- In the first few days after the release of TCP WRAPPERS 7.0 I received
- an impressive amount of feedback. Thanks. It quickly emerged that there
- are more inetd.conf file formats than the 8 systems that I had run my
- tests on. The result was one embarrassing core dump in the inetd.conf
- configuration checker (tcpdchk, tcpdmatch). Sorry, won't happen again.
-
- This patch improves portability only. If 7.0 works for you don't bother.
-
- - Portability: HP-UX permits one to break long inetd.conf entries
- with backslash-newline.
-
- - Portability: EP/IX has no putenv() and some inetd.conf entries
- occupy two lines.
-
- - Portability: SCO UNIX NIS has no *netgrent() routines.
-
- As always, suggestions for improvement are welcome.
